We finally got some summer-like weather in Finland in July. We had some friends visiting who wanted to visit Vallisaari-island.
As me and hubby also wanted to visit the island that was opened to the public last summer we jumped at the opportunity. After a short boat ride of some 20 minutes we arrived at Vallisaari. There were truly magnificent views, untouched nature and some interesting old military buildings. There is clear signing and many info boards with interesting historical facts. There is a couple of restaurants/cafes and a harbor for private vessels. This island is well worth a visit and a true sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city.Labels: daytrip, Finland, travel
